The Outbreak Olympics Idea

Started off as a idea in the head of Deville Rule, Captain of The D.V Cliq. Instead of a event day, the idea was to have mutli-staged event which would allow everyone a great chance of winning. So Rule came up with a rough idea of five events throughout a week, with points given based upon rank, and a grand champion crowned at the end. Due to the huge nature of the idea, Deville knew he had to get some help, and he knew just who to call.

The Brain Trust

When you think of events in outbreak, you think of Jack Straw. As a old friend and one time a mentor as such of Deville's, He was one of the two mercs Rule had in mind. The other one is the Vice Captain of The D.V Cliq Alandra Siali aka Queenie. Not only a fantastic mercenary but the organiser of the two highly sucessful cading missions. After a while of discussing ideas, solving problems etc etc, The three managed to come up with the five events for The Outbreak Olympics (listed below in detail). One of the biggest problem facing the three coordinators of this massive idea was to get people involved. After tossing around some idea's, It was decided that, as Jack put it, a marketing campaign would be a good way to increase the number of contestants. This involved cryptic spray tags around the two cities, word of mouth, radio adverts and posts on the forums. A fourth and final person was added to the organising of this huge event - Prulleman, a Lieutenant in The D.V Cliq. Not only a script genius but probably the richest merc in the outbreak. With a personal fortune approaching 2 million credits Prulleman has donated a huge amount to this event, Which is why the prize money is so great. Jack Straw contacted Nathan and Karen and was able to secured SIX new weapons as prizes for the Olympics. Gridflay and Sloop also pledged there support to help keep a eye on things during events. Demonslayer1 came up with the idea of creating wiki tags for the winners and created them as well.

Organisers and Judges

Event 1 will be judged by Jack Straw.

Event 2 will be judged by Deville Rule.

Event 3 will be judged by Alandra Siali.

Event 4 will be judged by Deville Rule, Alandra Siali, Jack Straw and Prulleman.

Event 5 will be judged by Deville Rule, Alandra Siali and Jack Straw.

Outbreak veterans gridflay and sloop will be assisting us as referees, wandering the cities keeping a eye on proceedings. Rule, Alandra, Jack and Prulleman will also be lurking during events that there not officating.

Each judge will be responsible for there own event, in how its ran to posts on the forums. Deville Rule will make sure everything is written up on this wiki page.

Prulleman is the sole sponsor of the entire event. He has donated credits and goods (Serums and Demon trophies) worth well over 1.2 Million credits.

Monday 24th March - Friday 28th March.

Events will be one per day with Event One on monday, Event Two on tuesday and so on...

Event One - The Spectre Pistol Hunt

A idea conjured up by Queenie and Jack. Jack started discussing the idea of a possible sewer hunt or Revenant hunt, after deciding that the former had been done too many times and that the latter wouldnt be enough for a lot of people to hunt, Queenie proposed Spectres and decided on a weapon of choice, that weapon being a pistol. Given the expierence Jack has in these events, the task of running and judging the event fell to him.

Spectre Hunt Rules

1: One hour time limit. post when starting and then 1 hour later with kill total.

2: Single pistol only, no Dual Wield.

3: Both Sewers and HGC are eligible hunting grounds.

4: Compete any time during the 24 hour time period.

5: The Honor System is in effect! The OB community are a trustyworthy bunch, but the

judges reserve the right to disqualify ANY questionable entries.

Event Two - Mental Medics

The event was proposed by Queenie, Simply a top medic day event which Deville decided to run. After a few dicussion about rules and judging options, the event was made. The name of the event was made by Deville, although even he is not sure why!.

Mental Medics Rules

Entrants will only offically enter once a screenshot of there merc stats are posted on the correct forum thread, which will be created prior to the event beginning. You will then have ONE hour to heal and res as many mercs as possible.

This is a 14 hour event

There will be a number of Alt characters, controlled by myself(Rule), Alandra and Jack. So there will always be mercs out there. A special merc named 'The Olympic Merc' will be somewhere and is worth a bonus 50 points if revived.

Points will be awarded for medical activities. A heal will earn you one point, whereas a resurrection will earn you twenty points.

There will be a 1 hour time limit. The events last entrant must be made before 23:00 GMT. A screenshot of your stats will be needed at this point in order to allow Deville to score the points on a before/after basis. Any screenshot posted after this time will not be accepted. The time in different timezones will be posted to ensure no confusion.

You need to list the names of the mercs you've revived, this is to ensure to people dont just use there alts to score cheap points. And all mercs revived MUST BE revive inside a secured building!!!

There is a few ways for people to cheat in this event and we ask everyone to be as honest as possible, Rule, Alandra, and Jack Straw may be online and wandering the city. Should anyone be caught cheating in anyway (Cheating such as using a alt character, two mercs allowing themselves to be intentionally injured so a friend can score points etc) Will be disqualified and possibly banned for competing futher.

The final standings will be posted at (hopefully) 23:45 GMT.

Edit - Thanks to Jack Straw the event time limit has been extended, to allow the west coasters a fairer chance to enter. so the event will end at 3am GMT, which is roughly 7-8pm on the west coast, or 11pm on the east coast!!!

Event Three - Olympic Cading

This event was a given, seeing as Queenie was involved in this. This time the cading will cover both cities. Queenie as you would expect, will be running this event, her third cading event.

Olympic cading Rules

We will be barricading in a row from left to right or right to left, whichever you prefer. We will keep in touch via Radio Channel 18. You will chime in and I will assign you a row. When you finish your row, you will report in and I will assign you another one. At the end of the event, I will tally up the amount that you have done and will post the winner on the forum under the event. We will be barricading in the city of Hells Gate first and then moving on to Piedmont with a 1 hour break in between so I don't burn out (I will broadcast the start time via radio channel 1

Requirements (Yes, you need things to actually participate )

1 Radio Advanced Urban Fortification.

Regulations

1. All Mercenaries must keep in contact with me via Radio channel 18 at all times. If you do not, you will not recieve credit for your work.

2. All buildings must go to almost completely barricaded.

3. Honor system will apply in getting the work done.

4. I reserve the right to disqualify a merc with questionable results (Do not argue with me, I know how long it takes to barricade a row)

Event Four - The Olympic Roleplaying

The fourth event in The Outbreak Olympics is a little different from usual events. After spending too much time at Weghorst Pub (Visit Here). Deville Rule came up with the idea of a Roleplaying story day, in which Rule, Queenie, Prulle and Jack would choose a winner based on a number of catagories. The basic idea was to start a story, let everyone RP on it for a day and choose a winner/top 5. Alandra Siali will be composing most of the starting story point.

The Olympic Roleplaying Rules

A Roleplaying post will be made on the outbreak forums which everyone will be encourged to post on. The four judges will rate everyone on these four catagories:

Grammar

Humour

Creativity

Character Development

The judges will converse until they come up with there top 5 posters and the points will be awarded accordingly.

Event Five - Hells Gate Slaughter

The final event of the olympics is one everyone has done at one point or another, plain and simply - a demon hunt! Jack proposed making the hunt Hells Gate only to increase the difficulty and to eliminate the likelyhood of people charging to the sewers to pick up so easy numbers.

Hells Gate Slaughter Rules

Rules:

A two hour event. Post screen shot of starting kills, then again when the time is up. There is a 24 hour period when your run can be completed - Friday 1:00pm GMT - Saturday 1:00pm GMT.

Once you've posted your starting screenshot, you have two hours from that moment to make the biggest kill total possible,

Contest restricted to Hell's Gate City Only!

No restrictions on weapons or demon type.

Winners based on total kill counts. Kill all you can!

Bonuses awarded For Revenant and Archvile kills. A Revenant kill will get you a 20 point bonus added to your final kill count, and a Archvile kill will get you a 30 point bonus added to your final kill count. IF YOU DO NOT POST SCREENSHOTS OF THESE KILLS YOU WILL NOT RECIEVE BONUS POINTS.

Anyone caught kill one demon in Piedmont during there run will be DQ'ed, absolutely no if's or but's.
